An open-plan living room and kitchen under a vaulted ceiling, with pendant lights, wall lights between the windows and a line of concealed lighting tracing the gable

A hallway under a sloping ceiling with skylights, lit by wall lights and by small low-level lights set into the walls above the skirting

A kitchen island with a rounded wooden end, three filament pendant lights above it and a warm glow of light along its plinth

Selected Work

A wall-mounted screen showing a painting of a woodland path, hung on an exposed brick chimney breast above a lit wood burner

Television

A television that reads as a picture

Hung on the brick chimney breast above the wood burner and left showing a painting, the screen sits in the room like the rest of its artwork rather than as a television.

A bronze garden speaker on a ground spike, set into planting

Hi-Fi & Audio

Audio in the garden

A speaker on a ground spike, set down into the planting so the sound reaches the garden and the hardware stays at ankle height. Outside treated with the same care as inside.

A dome camera fitted to a weathered brick gable, below the sloping verge coping

Networking & Security

Camera on the gable

Fixed high on the brickwork below the verge, with no cable, clip or trunking showing anywhere around it. Cameras, networks and Wi-Fi are the quiet half of the job.

A brass lighting keypad with scenes labelled Welcome, Evening, Outside and Off

Smart Home

Four scenes, one keypad

One brass keypad engraved Welcome, Evening, Outside and Off. Automation done properly means the room does the thinking, not the person walking into it.

A Wall of Sound equipment rack: network switch and zone amplifiers labelled by area of the house

Featured Project

The part you never see.

Every system in a property runs back to a rack: a managed network switch, patch panels numbered port by port, and every power lead labelled with the device it feeds. On a multi-room audio job that rack also carries a separate amplifier for each area, so the kitchen, the gym, the decking and the pool can all be doing something different at the same time.

It is the least glamorous part of any job and the most important one. Get the infrastructure right and everything downstream simply works, for years, without anybody having to think about it.
